Flex Camp Cleveland is an all-day event for beginning Flex developers, organized by the Cleveland Flex Users Group (CLEFUG). Meet others in the Flex community and hear some solid presentations by Flex developers who will give you a basic approach to learning Flex.

Ben Forta is Adobe Inc.'s Senior Technical Evangelist, and has over two decades of experience in the computer industry in product development, support, training, and marketing. Ben is the author of the best-selling ColdFusion Web Application Construction Kit and its sequel Advanced ColdFusion Application Development, as well as books on SQL, Regular Expressions, JavaServer Pages, WAP, Windows development, and more. Over 1/2 million Ben Forta books have been printed in a dozen languages worldwide. Ben co-authored the official ColdFusion training material, as well as the certification tests and official study guides for those tests, writes regular columns on ColdFusion and Internet development, and now spends a considerable amount of time lecturing and speaking on application development worldwide..

Doug Pierce is a partner with Cleveland-based WonderLab LLC, where he heads up the software development practice and he is a technical advisor to DimpleDough. WonderLab’s clients include technology startups, commercial software companies and other businesses. He specializes in application development (in Java, C/C++, Ruby/RoR and Flex), technical architecture and designing high-volume and highly available solutions. Previously, he served as Director of Technical Strategy for Datavantage, a subsidiary of MICROS Systems. Mr. Pierce has over sixteen years of experience in both systems administration and software development. Some past and present clients include the Chicago Board Of Trade, Motorola, Abbott Laboratories, OAG and Sherwin-Williams.

Curtis Gayheart is a senior developer with WonderLab LLC. He has 15 years experience in software development and systems administration. In addition to Flex development, Curtis is an expert Java developer and an experienced C/C++, Flash, Perl, PHP and VB developer. He has developed software for companies in industries including retail software, insurance, medical, financial and he was a technical manager for Case’s Weatherhead School of Management. An experienced musician, he swears that he will someday “put the band back together” when he finds the time.

Michael Krotscheck is a Flex Developer who grew out of the detritus of the Dot-Com bust. Desperate for employment, he took a job as a pixel pusher on an eLearning team and was subsequently buried under a gigantic pile of SCORM. After digging himself out with a shovel conveniently provided by OOP, he spent the next five years refining his development chops in PHP, Flash, Actionscript 2, and finally Actionscript 3 and Flex. He has been actively working in Flex for the past year, taking on Tech Leadership of HP Print Studio this winter and starting his own Tech Blog at Practical Flash. In his free time, Michael studies Ballroom, Swing and Salsa, trains for a marathon, and deeply considers the contents of his navel.

Scott Andrews is the CTO & co-founder of DimpleDough, Inc. and has over ten years of software development experience with Web technologies. He developed the architecture of DimpleDough's Card Customization Platform and has defined the technical strategy for implementation and growth of the company's services. His previous positions include International Software Development Manager for Micros Retail and Senior Consultant for Brulant, Inc. Scott holds a B.A. from Cleveland State University.


Kris Schultz is an Associate Director of Application Architecture with Resource Interactive, an Advertising Age Top 50 interactive agency in Columbus, Ohio. Kris leads the company's Rich Internet Application Practice Group, helping apply technologies including Flash, Flex, and AJAX to client work for Hewlett-Packard, Sherwin-Williams, Victoria's Secret, and others. Kris has written articles on RIA development for Adobe.com and frequently presents on RIA development topics.

Adam Lehman is a Platform Evangelist at Adobe Systems Incorporated based out of Washington, DC. Prior to joining Adobe, Adam was the Senior Web Engineer for the U.S. Department of State where he managed a team of developers and architected enterprise ColdFusion-based applications. Adam also founded and managed the Department of State Adobe Developer User Group for over two years. His background also includes several years designing and programming e-learning applications for Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Adam has been developing web applications specializing in ColdFusion for over a decade. His work has been featured in Macromedia's DRK (Developer Resource Kit) and his other areas of expertise include application security and Oracle database development.
